J’ai commencé à pratiquer la musculation à 17 ans, et ne fis ma première compétition qu’à l’âge de 26 ans.
Je voulais juste faire un premier pas mais les juges en décidèrent autrement et me voici sur scène à un quart de finale de championnat de France ; je fis 2ème.
Pourquoi alors ne pas essayer de faire 1er à la demi-finale ? Chose dite, chose faite ! Donc il me restait plus qu’à essayer de me classer à la finale. Cette année là, je fus sacré Champion de France IFBB en – 80 kg pour ma première saison… Je me découvris donc une vocation, une passion pour la compétition.
L’année suivante, je remportais les championnats d’Europe à la WABBA.
Mais quel intérêt dans cette fédé ? Je revins donc à l’IFBB et remportai le titre, pas seulement dans une catégorie supérieure (en – 90 kg) mais aussi en toute catégorie.
C’est à ce moment là que je pris la décision de devenir un jour professionnel dans la plus prestigieuse fédération de Bodybuilding au monde, l’IFBB.
Mais il ne s’agit pas seulement de le vouloir, faut-il aussi y arriver ! Il m’a fallu remporter un Open en Slovaquie à Poprad, remporter la Pro Cup au Weider Trophy et faire un top 6 aux championnats du monde.
Bref, ce ne fût pas une mince affaire. Aujourd’hui, je suis fier d’avoir à mon actif deux classements dans le top 10 pour mes premières compétitions au sein de l’IFBB en tant que professionnel…
Biography of Fred Sauvage
I started to do bodybuilding when I was seventeen and I did not do my first competition before the age of twenty-six.
I just wanted to make a small contest but the judges decided differently and pushed me to compete at the quarterfinal of France Championships. I came in second. Why wouldn't I try then to come in first at the semi-final? That 's what I did ! It only remained for me to get a good position at the final. That year, I was IFBB France Champion, in the - 80 kilos' category, for my first season.
So I discovered a vocation, a passion for competition.
The following year, I won WABBA Europe Championship. But what was my interest in staying in this federation? As a result, I came back to IFBB and won the title not only in a superior category ( this time in the - 90 kilos' ) but also in the "all classes".
This is when I took the decision to become one day a Professional in the most prestigious bodybuilding federation in the world, the IFBB. But that is not only a question of willing it, reaching it is no easy task! I had to win a Slovakia Grand Prize, the Pro Cup at the Weider Trophy and to do a top six at World Championships.
Today, I am proud to have to my name two rankings in the top ten at my first competitions within IFBB as a professional...
